3 Must Do Steps to Navigate Your Business Through Personal Hardship

Are you struggling to manage your business through a challenging family hardship? Maybe the pressure of an illness of a family member is effecting your ability to run the family business? Maybe your own health is the issue?

I have been working for myself since I has 21.That is an achievement I am very proud of!
But the road has not always been smooth, I have had my share of personal challenges ,every family has their share.

No matter what the motivational gurus say.Life doesn't always go to plan!Stuff happens! The greatest plans of mice and men can go out the door in a heartbeat.
The things you should worry about you will not see coming. The kind of thing that hits you at 11.28am on nondescript Saturday morning.

Our Family has got through our share of family challenges

Over 20 years of franchising,we have seen so many people meet face personal mountains that at the time seemed insurmountable.Illnesses like Cancer.MS.Heart Conditions,Organ transplant.

Death of loves. We have had 2 franchisee pass away on the job ,totally unexpectedly.
Healthy and happy heading off to work ,but never to return.

Illness of a a loved one. The partner or a child.Watching a loved one fight any illness seems to be one of the most traumatic experiences of life.

The most common is divorce. With 50% of marriages failing this is a high risk apparently.
I believe given time it is one that is recoverable from.

There are addictions from gambling, drugs or drinking.Mental health is I believe the most silent  assassin of  them all. Many people battle depression successfully.
But the damage other illnesses can have on a family is terrifying.
With the birth of social media we have seem relentless  internet bullying attacks driven by sociopaths.

Westpac doesn't care if your child needs a Heart Transplant
Financial battles seem to fade in comparison. At times money seems to be the being and end of every thing. It is just not that way at all.How much would you give to save the life of your child?
But maintaining your business and livelihood still has to be a priority.Westpac doesn't care if you have cancer or your child needs a heart transplant. They still want their pound of flesh.

You still have to buy grocery's and get your kids to school. The bills still have to be paid.

So how do you manage to get to the over side?

1) Strong business systems are vital.
These set procedures manage the daily actions that make your business successful ,they will carry you when you are not always personally operating at your best. These systems need to the invested in as your business grows , they will become the most valuable asset.

2) Delegate to people who are proven you can trust a 100%.
If your head is distracted by personal issues the last thing you need is to be managing those you  put into positions.

3) Just take one step at a time, until you get to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Define a clear path to follow. Deal with each day as it comes and don't get ahead of yourself.
To quote "Dory" out of Finding Nemo.
"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming"

Remember,Never give up!
