Master's Meeting Day 2(Feb 2011). What happened next?

The Team gathers for day 2 What happened next? Day 2 kicked off with "General Business'always exciting. We usually have GB at the end of day one,we find people get to the point quickly if it is backed on to Happy Hour. Because of the Trailer tour we had to vary the agenda. The "hight light' of the GB was the heated debate on the advertorial getting back on air. That the last masters meeting we reviewed the results of the advertorial which had increase service calls by  a huge % everywhere. We had the best conversion rates of calls to new franchisees ever! We had a vote all ,(but one master from WA) voted for it to go ahead! He even agreed that it worked,he just didn't want to pay for it! So we put a plan in place to have them on air in February. At the last minute this fella and a master from regional Queensland refuse to pay their share. This throws a spanner in everyone's works! The James Home Services Masters Meeting February 2011 Day 1! The Team Gathers! The kick off!Was delayed. The first speaker was 30minutes late!!!! Unbelievable!Bloody Franchsor has everyone hanging around! Oh Yeh,that's me. Everyone else blames the franchisor, I thought I'd give it a go. The Master Franchise are in one room,Trainers in the other! Well,I was first up to bat with the Masters! Opened with the Australia day tribute to our "Blue Angels". Set the tune for my presentation on the rapid growth of our social media. With only about 40% of our masters, Facebook switched on it was a big eye opener for many. The Master Meetings are vital to the success of our business Why do have the masters meetings so often? Well, we are in the service industry. We promise "Gold Medal Service." For us to deliver a high level of service to clients,our regional masters & trainers, the leaders of our group need to be trained to a high level themselves. The culture of constant skill development is vital. 1/2% very week! History shows that any Master Franchise that refuses to attend and learn will certainly fail in their business. In turn their franchisee's businesses suffer when they don't get the support they need to grow their business. The Masters Meetings are huge asset to our businesses. What is a Masters Meeting any way?

This is good question,I guess! We take it for granted that "Outsiders" understand what we mean! Each 3 months the James Home Services Master Franchisee's get together for a 2 day meeting. We believe this is vital to the success of the regional master  franchisee. So much so the Master  Franchisee Agreement has this as a compulsory requirement. We all head to the beautiful Sunshine Coast for 2 days of partying. Just joking!!!!! I work them hard,actually! We are supposed to have agenda items in 2 weeks before! Of course everyone leaves to the last minute. So this meeting I made everyone present  and I gave them their agenda item. Certainly matched up the subject to the speaker ,all have strengths in different areas. I only just finalized the agenda. Have a meeting with State Masters tomorrow afternoon. Then Thursday we have the Regional Masters in one room & the trainers in the other until 2.30pm. Then we have an interesting afternoon plan for all of them

As always leading up to our 1/4 Masters Meeting is always hectic. Agenda is still being finalized. Late requests & ideas coming forward We've taking a tour of the new trailer (Trailers 2000) builders factory. Impressive,they make up to 800 trailers a week. Very well built units! We are finalizing the advertorial campaign to start next month. Was suppose to start in February,but one regional master throw a spanner in the works at the 11th hour. We had to postpone February Dates. One of the challengers of being a franchisor is someone will always fight change. At times they are trying to get a free ride of the work & investment of the rest of the group. Or the haven't been investing the marketing dollars they are required too and they don't like being held accountable. We had a Master ,5 years ago, who fought the investment in our websites for 2 years. Ironically, she sold  her business for 250% profit from an web inquiry. Today,48% of our service inquiri

What does the franchisor actually do?

What does the Franchisor actually do? This week I've been flat out working with "potential master franchise's. We have potential masters looking at business opportunities from Melbourne to South East Queensland to North Queensland to Adelaide! Some look good ,some don't look as suitable for our business. I personally invest time in with our potential master franchises. At James Home Services the Master Franchisee plays a key role. Great Master ,Great Team ,Great Service! Poor Master,Poor Team, Poor Service! The selection process is the key. But most people are on their best behavior at this stage. You don't always get it right,So it is worth the investment to give you the best result. Then there's follow up coaching with current masters. At maybe a coffee shop some where or on the phone or by Skype! Then theres the Master Meeting next week! Haven't even got to that to that! Then there's the marketing. Franchsors "Get their money for nothing!"

I hear this consistently. The franchisor is sitting on a beach doing nothing! I WISH!!! As a business that been franchising for 17 years through out Australia. People do believe the fellow who started it would be "kicking back'. Now we did start franchising when I was a very young 27 years old. So, I'm only 45 this years. I do have a lot of working life in me. So does our business! We still have a long way to go together!
