Master's Meeting Day 2(Feb 2011). What happened next?

What happened next?
Day 2 kicked off with "General Business'always exciting.
We usually have GB at the end of day one,we find people get to the point quickly if it is backed on to Happy Hour.
Because of the Trailer tour we had to vary the agenda.
The "hight light' of the GB was the heated debate on the advertorial getting back on air.
That the last masters meeting we reviewed the results of the advertorial which had increase service calls by  a huge % everywhere.
We had the best conversion rates of calls to new franchisees ever!

We had a vote all ,(but one master from WA) voted for it to go ahead!
He even agreed that it worked,he just didn't want to pay for it!
So we put a plan in place to have them on air in February.
At the last minute this fella and a master from regional Queensland refuse to pay their share.
This throws a spanner in everyone's works!
Advertorial is put on hold.demanding everyones business,Masters & Franchisees'!
So as you can imagine, there were a couple upset peers in the room.
The conclusion was that the adds go ahead with the rest of the group carry the extra costs, so our 400 franchisees aren't disadvantaged by the actions of just 2 people.
We then go through the legal process to recoup the funds from the individuals,then return them into the advertorial spend later.
A lot of hard work really,just to get people to run their business properly.
This is the franchisor role to always do what is best for the group!
Don't ever feel too sorry for the poor little  masters ,as masters we have an obligation to reinvest portions of the initial franchisee fee into the marketing.
These guys have already made money from the advertorials,just want to keep it in their pockets.
Anyway, we are now ready to get back on the front feet and pump up everyone's business.
By the way the new spokes person is still under wraps!

Next up was Jim Harris giving us all heaps of techno info about the butler system updates.

The butler is the computerized coaching system we used  to help our franchisee.
Great advice ,but it did seem to go over a few heads!
Jim's tip of the day had to be ,"Get rid of all the rubbish off your desk top it slows your start up drastically" 


Then after lunch Ross Gillet from Penrith in Sydney's West.

The Tim Burns our State Master from NSW presented on how to run a Fantastic Meeting.
Tim reminded us that it is up the Masters franchise to create an environment where people will enjoy learning and will empower them to participate in the monthly meetings
From the agenda,venue,icebreakers to what you feed them.
All go in to making a Fantastic Meeting!
Meeting's should be Fun!


Then I wrapped up the day with a session on "Walking the Journey".
Our role is that of  leader throughout the franchisee's journey .

I have some interesting observation regarding the rapid growth of "Social Media" within our network!

  1. As a franchisee I know how well the advertorials work, I sure don't want them taken away. Last time I checked franchisees pay 3% ad fee each week. Thanks to all the other masters for chipping in the extra money. Well done!
