The James Home Services Masters Meeting of February 2011,What went on?

The James Home Services Masters Meeting February 2011 Day 1!
The Team Gathers!

The kick off!Was delayed.
The first speaker was 30minutes late!!!!
Unbelievable!Bloody Franchsor has everyone hanging around!
Oh Yeh,that's me.
Everyone else blames the franchisor, I thought I'd give it a go.
The Master Franchise are in one room,Trainers in the other!
Well,I was first up to bat with the Masters!
Opened with the Australia day tribute to our "Blue Angels".
Set the tune for my presentation on the rapid growth of our social media.
With only about 40% of our masters, Facebook switched on it was a big eye opener for many.
That the whole "Blue Angels' was inspired by the Facebook and Blog updates!
Next in was Ian Schubert from Brisbane West & South East.
Ian gave a great presentation about "Attitude'.
Comparing the inspiring attitude of a Ipswich flood victim that had lost everything, to the wingeing attitude of a franchise who was complaining about having all sorts of problems because he had "Too Much " work.

Attitude is Everything

Ian was followed by the "Dynamic Duo"from Far North Queensland.Sonya & Justin Kelly.

Their topic was "How to get your Master off to a Flying Start'.
The Kelly's business was took of at an amazing rate.
Their Secret to success"
Wait for it,they won't believe it ?
Words of Wisdom
Do what the Franchisor says and stick to the system!
Wow, Truly amazing words of wisdom.

Next to present was my beautiful wife Rhonda.
Whom asked the big question.
"What if I'm the problem?"
Helped us to stop and think.
When we maybe feeling frustrated because someone might not be learning as quickly as we would like.
We may need to adopt a different a tactic to help them understand.

What if I'm the problem?
Next up was Lunch!
Then Ian Haggerty from Gold Coast gave what I hear, was a very funny presentation on;
"Keeping the Balance".
Keeping the Balance
Now,I hear it was excellent but I was then in the trainers room for the afternoon session,so I'll have to wait to it's on video to catch it.
I also missed the Lesson learnt' of Jenny Schaeffer,Janelle Dunn,Tim Griffin and Andrea Prentice.
All doing their bit in very different styles.

For the morning,In the other room the James Trainers had the experienced team of Vicki & John Brownsdon presenting on the follow up process with new franchisee's and the trainers role in that process.
Franchisee follow ups
My afternoon session with the trainers was also on the use of social media with in our business.
But ,the trainers had a different perspective.
The key issue that they have problems working with is keeping in communication with their new franchisee across the country.
With only a hand currently using Facebook to keep up with their trainees!
Only a handful of trainers are already hooked on social media
What was quite apparent was that the rapid growth of the social media since the last AGM has been driven by our franchisee up!
Which is very exciting!
Our people want to hear what is happening around the country with their fellow franchisee.
Got a great idea from Natasha (Our Pet Grooming trainer from Penrith)of getting out and about to mix with our franchisee here.Stay Tuned!
Tim Burns finished the afternoon off with a shorten version presentation on "How to make a great meeting".
I think I went a bit over time.
We than all headed to Beerwah for the Marketing Challenge And the "Tour" of the trailers 2000 factory.

With the afternoon finishing with best & Fairest awards at the Beerwah Tavern !

And good day was had by all!
That's only day one!
Stay tuned
